Like most American kids, Jackson Dean enjoyed fireworks on the 4th of July when he was growing up, but he admits he wasn’t as interested in the “works” as he was the “fire.”

“I was always more of a fire kid, like stoke the fire, just have a good fire, you’re fine.” We used to go watch fireworks every year at the Baysox stadium, and go down to Duck Beach, watch ‘em on the beach. And I liked fireworks enough. I wasn’t, like, setting ‘em off and pointing ‘em at people’s houses or nothing crazy like that.”
