Before Mackenzie Carpenter was a touring artist, she didn’t have a lot of opportunity to travel around and explore the U.S., but now it’s one of the things she loves about her job. And she loves how people she meets can be so different in certain areas, but the one thing they all have in common is their love of country music.

“You know, before I started doing this and really traveling for music, my family traveled a bit, but we weren’t gone a lot. So, to get to travel almost every single weekend and see such different parts of the United States. Every tour is so different. There are some tours in super rural areas. Like on the Jake Owen tour, we were kind of out in the middle of nowhere on some of these dates, and the closest airports were like nowhere to be seen. So, the travel days are long and hard, but then the people come out of nowhere and show up and they’re ready to party. And then there’s, you know, bigger cities or more populated areas where you might have more to do that day, but then maybe people don’t care as much because they have more to do too. So, it’s really cool to see the difference and to just like learn about these areas. So I think it’s a really unique perspective to just get to like learn and be open to learning more about these people and where they come from and what they love.”
