CURRENT SINGLE: “It’s Cause I Am”
To watch Callista Clark perform live, you would never know that she can be painfully shy, which almost makes you wonder how and why she chose such a high profile career of being an artist, as opposed to something more behind-the-scenes like being a songwriter. Callista says the choice was easy. “I know music is what I’m supposed to be doing.” Besides, she points out, “Writing songs was even a really hard thing at first because getting in front of people and opening your heart is very hard to do, especially if you’re young, and you constantly have people telling you that what you’re feeling isn’t real yet.”
Callista was a young teenager when she started collaborating with other, usually much older, songwriters, and sitting down in a room with them and expressing that she’s been in love or had her heart truly broken, she says, “That’s really nerve-racking, when you wonder if people are going to believe you.”
Whether it’s co-writing with other people or getting on stage and stepping into the spotlight, Callista says even though she can still be shy, “The older I’ve been getting and the more I do it, the easier it’s become.”

“I know music is what I’m supposed to be doing, and writing songs was even a really hard thing at first because getting in front of people and opening your heart is very hard to do, especially if you’re young. And you constantly have people telling you that what you’re feeling isn’t real yet. That’s really nerve-racking, when you wonder if people are going to believe you. So yeah, just the older I’ve been getting and the more I do it, the easier it’s become.”
