CURRENT SINGLE: “It’s Cause I Am”
Callista Clark just turned 18, but she signed her record deal with Big Machine Records when she was 15, which causes some people to draw comparisons between her and another young female singer who signed with Big Machine when she was just a teenager – Taylor Swift. Callista certainly doesn’t mind the comparison because she says, “She had a huge impact on me. I mean, she’s had such a long, amazing career and she still has one going on.”
While Callista is still in the beginning stages of her career, with her debut single, “It’s Cause I Am,” sitting in the top 25 on the charts, she says, “Obviously, I feel like I would be lucky to have that kind of a career (like Taylor), and just have fans like hers and be successful as long as her. That’s definitely a goal of mine.”
But Callista wants people to know that while she admires Taylor and her career, she’s not trying to be the next Taylor Swift. “I always want to be myself and be my own artist, of course, and just tell my own stories.”
