CURRENT SINGLE: “Old School’s In”
When Heath Sanders decided to move to Nashville to try to become an artist, he knew he was taking a big chance and that there were no guarantees, and he admits that he frequently questioned whether he had what it takes to make it. “When I first got to Nashville, and dealing with the culture shock and the shock of the talent in this town,” says Heath, “I think it was every day I heard somebody play and was like, I can’t do this. Now I have looked at a lot of artists and said, if that guy don’t make it, I need to go back home.”
Even though Heath sometimes feels intimidated by the other incredibly talented people in Nashville, he is grateful for them because he says, “You question yourself every day, and I think a good humble musician and artist, I think he does that. I’d like to think that all of ‘em do. It makes you better and keeps you on point. But yeah, I’m glad there’s better people out there than me. I’d get lazy if there weren’t.”
If you’ve seen Heath perform live or listened to his debut EP, Common Ground, there’s no doubt, he is to other artists like some of the artists he looks to, to make him step up his game and work harder.
