CURRENT SINGLE: “It’s Cause I Am”
Callista Clark had the opportunity to perform live a lot during the pandemic, but it was mostly acoustic performances, usually seated on a stool or a chair, and she’s quickly realizing she may need to do some pre-show preparations for full-blown shows with a band and a whole stage to utilize. “I saw a video on Tik Tok of Miley Cyrus running on a treadmill and singing the song from her album at the top of her lungs,” says Callista. And she confesses, “That actually was very intimidating to me.”
Sone people don’t realize the amount of breath control and stamina it takes to perform live, but Callista says after seeing that video of Miley, “I realized that I need to be doing a lot to get prepared for all of this, so I am going to start doing all the things.”
While running on a treadmill or doing some sort of cardio activity is on her list, Callista is sure there is so much she still has to learn, so she says, “Anybody let me know if there’s anything, like artist tips that I’m supposed to know.”
Over the years we’ve talked to dozens of artists who insist proper rest, proper hydration and good nutrition – if you can – are some of the keys to performing well and staying healthy on the road.
