Thomas Rhett’s latest single, “T-shirt,” is actually a song that he’s been living with for quite a while. He says, “I kind a call this song the one that hung on ‘cause I had it on hold on my first record and Tim McGraw actually had it on hold for a long time, so I couldn’t put it on my first record ‘cause Tim had it on hold and once he let it go I latched that thing down and really couldn’t wait to cut it and put it on my second album.”
While Thomas had to wait until his sophomore album, Tangled Up, to record and release “T-shirt,” he always knew it was a great song because he says, “It’s been my wife’s favorite song to dance around to. We love playin’ that song live and basically the song is just about young love and just a great way to go into summer and a cool little up-tempo to follow up a ballad.”
Thomas is having a great time performing “T-shirt” on the We Were Here Tour with Jason Aldean.
