Tara Thompson’s debut single, “Someone to Take Your Place,” is about a woman who’s not sitting around moping about a break up. Tara admits, “Every girl has her own way of dealin’ with breakups. Me, unfortunately, my breakups are never the same, so it’s never usually an easy thing for me and it’s never easy breaking up with somebody, or gettin’ broken up with. So, usually for me my dogs really help me get through my breakups and I don’t know what it is about them, but those little girls have seen it all. I’ve had them since they were little babies and they’re seven, eight years old right now. So, they really help me get through it.”
In addition to her great furry companions, Tara has a few other great break up tools in her arsenal. Tara says, “I will say it does help to have a little bit of a whiskey and maybe a little bit of ice cream, some chocolate … ” But also, she says, “Don’t take it too serious because I just like to tell myself, I know this sounds so cliché’ but, there’s plenty of fish out in the sea for everyone and you know, actually, I’m kind of enjoying being single right now. So, I don’t get too hung up on the sadness part or take it too serious. I just try to move on and be happy.”
“Someone to Take Your Place” is the lead single off Tara’s debut album, which she’ll be releasing later this year through The Valory Music Co.
