Growing up as the daughter of Glen Campbell, Ashley Campbell had the chance to cross paths and interact with quite a few of her dad’s famous friends. As Ashley recalls, “We didn’t get a lot of house visitors, I guess, but I remember one time in high school, I was sitting at home doing homework and the phone rang and I picked it up and this guy was like, ‘Hey, is Glen there?’, I’m like, ‘Uh, no, he’s not here right now, he’s golfing, may I ask who’s calling?’. ‘This is Willie.’”
Recognizing the voice as Willie Nelson’s, Ashley laughs and says she asked his last name and told him she would have her dad call him back.
Ashley just released her debut single, “Remembering,” a special tribute to her father, which will be on the forthcoming album she is currently working on for Dot Records.
