(AUDIO) Steven Tyler Doesn’t Feel The Need To Classify His Style of Country

When Steven Tyler announced he was going to be making a country album, many people wondered what his brand of country would sound like. Would it be more rock based country or traditional country or pop country? Steven isn’t interested in defining his style of country because he says, “I just look at it this way, a good song is a good song, and if you pull it off right and get the right artist and the right people to sing it it’ll be a home run, and all I care about is hearing a good song on the radio and being part of it.”

If had to explain his sound he says, “It’s kinda sideways Country, but nevertheless it’s Country, and as you know Country’s the new Rock and Roll anyway. So, I particularly like slide guitar, I like banjo, I like ukulele, I like auto-harp, I like kazoos. I like all kinds of stuff that’s different and I’ve been able to throw that in, to this record, and have a lot of fun, and I’m only hoping that that transcends to the listener.”

Steven is working on his debut album for Dot Records, that will feature his current single, “Love Is Your Name.”

I’m really grateful for having ‘Loving Mary’ be my band during this project and the way I sound singing with them is the kinda Country I like. It’s kinda sideways Country, but nevertheless it’s Country, and as you know Country’s the new Rock and Roll anyway.
