Thomas Rhett will release his new album, Tangled Up, featuring his Gold-certified single, “Crash and Burn,” on September 25th. Thomas says the album represents all the music he’s been influenced by over the last two years as an artist and a songwriter, including soul, R&B, old school country, rock and everything in between. He estimates he wrote 60% of the songs on the album. “We’ll probably put 13 or 14 (songs) on the album, I probably wrote eight-ish, somewhere ‘round there. I don’t really know if that correlates to 60%, so don’t judge my math.”
“Crash and Burn” is a good indication of what’s to come from the new project. Thomas recently told The Detroit News, Tangled Up will be a “pretty out there record,” and he says, “It’s a big ball of yarn, and all of these songs are in knots, and none of them really fit together. But at the same time they are all, cohesively, Thomas Rhett songs.”
