(AUDIO) Thomas Rhett Loves Being An Integral Part of the Country Music Family

It was just a few years ago when Thomas Rhett was better known as Rhett Akins’ son, but these days, with numerous hit singles to his credit, including his brand new song, “Crash and Burn,” and plenty of time on the road playing his own shows and opening for other people, and writing hit songs for some of his fellow artists, Thomas is very much an integral part of the country music family.

Thomas says, “It is so fun to be able to play shows with these people like, I mean people like Brett (Eldredge) and we got to play a show with Luke (Bryan), Randy Houser and Dustin Lynch, and it’s kinda like this tight knit community of friends and I think that’s one of the biggest reasons I love CMA Fest and CMT Awards and CMA Awards is because we’re all are so tight with each other.”

Thomas loves that although he’s competing for album sales and spots on the charts on touring dollars with his peers, they’re all still friends and kind of like a family. “This is very tight knit community and we all kinda have each other’s backs and I think that’s one of the coolest things about bein’ in the genre’,” says Thomas, “is that everybody kinda is rootin’ for the other, whether it’s a friendly competition or whatever it is.”

Thomas recently announced that his new album will be called Tangled Up, and it will be released on September 25th, just before he hits the road in October for CMT on Tour: Brett Eldredge & Thomas Rhett – Suits & Boots.

“I grew up in the business and, you know, for me being a kid, I got to know a lot of people and so, when I started to actually be an artist and a songwriter, it is so fun to be able to play shows with these people like, I mean people like Brett and we got to play a show with Luke, Randy Houser and Dustin Lynch and it’s kinda like this tight knit community of friends and I think that’s one of the biggest reasons I love CMA Fest and CMT Awards and CMA Awards is because we’re all are so tight with each other.
