Thomas Rhett admits that when he was growing up, he tended to be pretty mischievous on the 4th of July. “My family had a beach house down in the islands, as (long as) I can ever remember and every year fireworks were illegal where we stayed because it was always so hot and dry, but we always shot fireworks off and the cops always came to our house,” he confesses.
Now that he’s older with a successful music career, Thomas is usually working on the 4th of July, but this year he’s actually going to be on vacation with his wife for the holiday. He says, “This year is the first year in a while that me and Lauren are gonna – after Tyler Hubbard’s wedding – we’re gonna go from there to Hawaii for a few weeks and hang out and surf and live the Billy Currington life.”
Thomas will be able to enjoy the good life until July 11th, when he joins Luke Bryan’s Kick the Dust Up Tour at Nashville’s Vanderbilt Stadium. Then he’ll spend the rest of the summer promoting his latest single, “Crash and Burn,” and performing on the fair and festival circuit.

Thomas Rhett – 4th of July :34
“Yeah, we used to always go…my family had a beach house down in the islands, as I can ever remember and every year fireworks were illegal where we stayed because it was always so hot and dry, but we always shot fireworks off and the cops always came to our house. So, I love those memories of fireworks and family and friends and Coca-Cola and hot dogs and just America in general. But, for the past four years of my life I’ve been on the road playin’, so this year is the first year in a while that me and Lauren are gonna – after Tyler Hubbard’s wedding – we’re gonna go from there to Hawaii for a few weeks and hang out and surf and live the Billy Currington life.”
